WMD and Security Forum (2021 session) stress on the imprtance of 2021 which will pave the way to the launch of the 10th session of the NPT review conference (revcon) that was significantly delayed. It is very important to coordinate effort prior to the revcon to ensure the success of this important international gathering. The coordination meeting is scheduled to take place in November 2021 with the participation of regional representatives, think tanks civil society and academic organizations. There is deep believe that the outcomes of the review conference will be deeply influenced by the situation in the Middle East. The Middle East was the main reason for not achieving consensus last review conference (2015), with multiple vetos against the final document (US, UK and Canada).

Indeed, the Middle East is unique, it is the only region in the world that has two controversial nuclear programs. On the one hand, the region is home to an Iranian nuclear program which is viewed suspiciously by the international community, a program that aims to attain superiority and self-esteem. On the other hand, the region hosts an Israeli nuclear program with alarming consequences, a program falling outside the framework of IAEA that aims to achieve deterrence and the false guarantee of self-preservation.

The coordination meeting is important to reveal positions and put prevailing concerns on the table, it aims to address a number of issues (including but not restricted to)
